Football Game Preview: Mancos Bluejays vs. Dolores Bears + How To Watch

Mancos has gone a perfect 3-0 against Dolores recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Mancos was handed a heart-breaking two-point defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Merino two weeks ago. The Bluejays blew past the Rams 50-8. The Bluejays haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Jonah H Ritter was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 222 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.3 yards per carry. Those 222 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Resner, who rushed for 63 yards and one TD.

Meanwhile, Dolores hadn't done well against Rangely recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way two weeks ago. The Bears breezed past the Panthers to the tune of 28-0. Fans of the Bears have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Dolores' win came from a few key players Mancos will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was River Wickstrom, who rushed for 38 yards and one score, and also threw for 136 yards and one touchdown on only 12 passes.

Dolores didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Deven Winter and Michael Rantz were the leaders of the group effort as each produced two apiece. Dolores received some extra help from Ethan 'Miles' Brown, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Dolores' victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Mancos, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Everything came up roses for Mancos against Dolores in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, as the squad secured a 48-0 win. Will the Bluejays repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
