Baseball Game Preview: Los Osos Grizzlies vs. Upland Highlanders/Scots

For the second straight game, Los Osos will face off against Upland. The Grizzlies will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Highlanders/Scots at 3:15 p.m. Los Osos' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Upland's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Los Osos headed into their last matchup having not scored more than two runs for four straight, but Upland let them put that streak behind them. The Grizzlies were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Highlanders/Scots on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Grizzlies in their matchups with the Highlanders/Scots: they've now won five in a row.

Los Osos got a great performance from Jordan Mejico as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Mejico has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Wyatt Mohler was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Roberto Topete, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and one double.

Los Osos was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .457. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Upland only posted a batting average of .296.

Upland is on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-16. As for Los Osos, their win bumped their record up to 14-6.
