Basketball Game Preview: Hunter Wolverines vs. Taylorsville Warriors

The Hunter Wolverines are taking a road trip to face off against the Taylorsville Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, Hunter beat Kearns 40-33.

Hunter got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Grace Gallagher out in front who almost dropped a triple-double with nine points, 12 boards, and ten blocks. Gallagher is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in each of the last 36 games she's played dating back to last season. Kiana Pauni was another key player, shooting 4-for-6 from deep and dropping a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds.

Hunter smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Taylorsville waltzed into their contest on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 48-47 W against the Jaguars.

The victory got Taylorsville back to even at 10-10. As for Hunter, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-13 record this season.

Hunter came up short against Taylorsville in their previous matchup back in January, falling 60-49. Can Hunter avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
