Basketball Recap: Addi Jones Key Part of a Team Effort in Chieftains Win

Yutan won the last time they faced Logan View/Scribner-Snyder and things went their way on Thursday too. The Yutan Chieftains came out on top against Logan View/Scribner-Snyder by a score of 41-34 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Yutan's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addi Jones, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 12 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Mylee Tichota, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Despite the loss, Logan View/Scribner-Snyder still got an impressive performance from Neveah Vacha, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Vacha a new career-high in steals (seven). Another player making a difference was Jayde Kreifels, who posted two points in addition to 13 rebounds and five blocks.

Yutan's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Logan View/Scribner-Snyder, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Yutan will take on Fort Calhoun in a holiday battle at at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Fort Calhoun will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Yutan surely won't give up without a fight. As for Logan View/Scribner-Snyder, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lakeview at 6:00 p.m.
