Baseball Recap: Otis Triumphs

Otis proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 11) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Prairie Mustangs. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Gavin Price made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Mitchell Stivers was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Austin Hornung was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Otis was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in three consecutive games.

Otis' record is now 6-3. As for Prairie, they dropped their record down to 3-3 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Mustangs beat Otis by a score of 8-5 later that day.
