Soccer Game Preview: Pearce vs. Nimitz

The Pearce Mustangs will head out on the road to take on the Nimitz Vikings at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Pearce will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each match than the last.

If Nimitz heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Pearce took over last week. The Mustangs came out on top against MacArthur by a score of 4-2 on Friday. Pearce haven't had any issues with MacArthur recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Nimitz came up short against Lake Highlands on Friday, falling 4-1. The defeat continues a trend for Nimitz in their meetings with Lake Highlands: they've now lost five in a row.

Pearce's victory bumped their record up to 8-4-2. As for Nimitz, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7-4.

Everything went Pearce's way against Nimitz in their previous matchup back in March of 2025, as Pearce made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
