Volleyball Recap: St. Mary's Gets the Win

St. Mary's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the West Wolfpack 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Wolfpack: they've now won six in a row.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (103-94) St. Mary's actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-23, 19-25, 10-25, 15-10.

Despite the loss, West still got an impressive performance from Matthew Deleon, who had 12 digs and four aces. That's the most digs Deleon has posted since back in April of 2024.

St. Mary's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for West, they moved to 7-6 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coming up, St. Mary's will take on Kimball at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for West, they will square off against Lodi at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lodi will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something West surely won't give up without a fight.
