Football Recap: Cathedral Takes a Loss

Cathedral and Archbishop Williams pushed the score to 36-30 the last time they played Archbishop Williams, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Panthers lost 22-0 to the Bishops. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bishops apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Xavier Roman threw for 75 yards on seven of 11 attempts. Taqaire Bell was his top target, picking up 34 receiving yards.

This is the second loss in a row for Cathedral and nudges their season record down to 5-3. As for Archbishop Williams, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-0.

Cathedral does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Archbishop Williams, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Cardinal Spellman at 6:00 p.m. on the 26th. The Bishops will be up against the Cardinals' rather soft defense (which has allowed 41.25 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
