With a playoff win on the line, Las Plumas rose to the challenge on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Chico Panthers 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Thunderbirds have posted since March 21st.

Kyler Storey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kendal Headley, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Atteberry, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Las Plumas' victory bumped their record up to 25-4. As for Chico, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-13 record this season.

As of now, neither Las Plumas nor Chico have any future games scheduled.
