Gaither waltzed into their matchup on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Wesley Chapel Wildcats 49-7. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-7.

Gaither's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryan Browning, who threw for 355 yards and three touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes. Another back making a difference was Joshua Balloon, who rushed for 115 yards and a pair of TDs on only six carries.

Gaither's run defense was locked in: Wesley Chapel could only muster 3.5 yards per carry. While two picked up at least three total tackles, Balloon stood above the rest. He rushed for 115 yards and two scores on only six carries. That's the most yards per carry they've managed all season.

Gaither's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Wesley Chapel, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gaither will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Springstead at 7:30 p.m. on October 10. As for Wesley Chapel, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Forest at 7:30 p.m.
