Basketball Recap: Sauk Centre Extends Home Winning Streak to 14

Sauk Centre waltzed into their match on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Osakis Silverstreaks 58-36. Given the Mainstreeters' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while the Silverstreaks are ranked 183rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sauk Centre pushed their record up to 22-2 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Osakis, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 14-10 record this season.

Looking ahead, Sauk Centre will be playing at home against Foley at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Foley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Sauk Centre likes a good challenge. As for Osakis, they are taking a road trip to take on Pillager at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
