Baseball Recap: West Bend-Mallard Takes a Loss

West Bend-Mallard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 17-2 to the Estherville Lincoln Central Midgets. The Wolverines were not able to make up for their loss to the Midgets from their previous meeting back in June of 2017.

West Bend-Mallard's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Estherville Lincoln Central, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

West Bend-Mallard didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 7-4 loss against Sioux Central on the 31st. As for Estherville Lincoln Central, they are taking a road trip to challenge Spencer at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.5 runs per game on average), something the Midgets will no doubt try to take advantage of.
