The Alamo Navajo Cougars can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent game on Thursday. They really took it to Hondo Valley for the full four quarters, racking up a 73-36 win at home. With Alamo Navajo ahead 51-14 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Alamo Navajo's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Scotty Guerro, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Guerro has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Apache, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
The win makes it two in a row for Alamo Navajo and bumps their season record up to 14-8. As for Hondo Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 13 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.
Alamo Navajo will be playing at home against Hondo Valley at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Alamo Navajo has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Hondo Valley, they will head out on the road to take on Alamo Navajo at 1:00 p.m. One thing working in Alamo Navajo's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups.
