Sehome and Ferndale are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2017, but likely not for long. The Mariners will head out on the road to square off against the Golden Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Sehome's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Ferndale's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Wednesday, Sehome didn't have quite enough to beat Bellingham and fell 4-2. That's two games in a row now that the Mariners have lost by exactly two runs.

Jad Geiger made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. That double was his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Ferndale didn't have quite enough to beat Burlington-Edison on Wednesday and fell 9-8. The Golden Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ferndale saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Fenton Vasak, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4. Vasak has become a key player for the Golden Eagles: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-5 otherwise.

Ferndale's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Sehome, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Sehome suffered a grim 9-2 defeat to Ferndale when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can the Mariners avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
