Preview: Shore Regional Blue Devils vs. Washington Township Minutemen
The Shore Regional Blue Devils on the road again on Saturday and play against the Washington Township Minutemen at 1:00 p.m. on January 20th. Shore Regional will be strutting in after a victory while Washington Township will be coming in after a defeat.
In what's become a running theme this season, Shore Regional gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Keyport 58-21 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Shore Regional has posted yet this season.
Kimi Sayson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Conley Smolokoff, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Washington Township's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They took a hard 43-25 fall against Moorestown. While losing is never fun, Washington Township can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while Moorestown is ranked 23rd).
Shore Regional is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Washington Township, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-4 record this season.
