Jonah Barnett of Mt. Gilead (Ohio) became just the third player in state history to score nine rushing touchdowns in a game when he turned the trick in his team's 64-49 win over Crooksville (Ohio) Friday.

Barnett carried 38 times for 492 yards and an Ohio state record nine rushing touchdowns, matching the total of Cliff Miller of Columbian (Tiffin) in 2014 and Kimu Kim of Canfield in 2013.

It should be noted that the state's all-time record of 12 touchdowns in a game was set in 1923 by Erastus Simmons of Medina. Simmons is not found on the list of rushing touchdowns in a game.

Barnett has 722 yards rushing on 61 carries with 13 touchdowns in two games for Mt. Gilead. Barnett rushed for 1,128 yards as a junior with 13 touchdowns.
