Basketball Game Preview: Marysville Monarchs vs. Olentangy Braves

The Marysville Monarchs will head out to take on the Olentangy Braves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Last Friday, Marysville lost to Dublin Jerome at home by a 48-33 margin. While losing is never fun, the Monarchs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 213th, while the Celtics are ranked 50th).

Meanwhile, Olentangy got the win against Thomas Worthington on Friday by a conclusive 55-33. The Braves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 21 points or more this season.

Olentangy pushed their record up to 16-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 26.8 points. As for Marysville, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.

Marysville came up short against Olentangy in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 68-55. Can Marysville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
