Softball Recap: Thompson Valley Eagles vs. Mountain View Mountain Lions
Thompson Valley never got on the board in their matchup last Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Mountain View on Thursday. They blew past the Mountain View Mountain Lions 14-0. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by six runs or more this season.
Mia Villafranca made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and only two hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with a home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Anabelle Gerarrd, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and a triple. What's more, she also racked up three hits, the mostshe's had since back in August. Justee Durtsche was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.
