Baseball Game Preview: Central Pointe Christian Academy CPCA vs. IMG Academy Blue Ascenders

The Central Pointe Christian Academy CPCA will face off against the IMG Academy Blue Ascenders at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Central Pointe Christian Academy is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Central Pointe Christian Academy fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against IMG Academy Silver on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Ascenders by a score of 5-4.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but IMG Academy Blue ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Ascenders.

Kapono Kaha'i tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 5.1 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because IMG Academy Blue is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-7 otherwise.

On the hitting side, IMG Academy Blue let Brennan Prendergast and Charles Chenail run wild. Prendergast got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two doubles and one RBI, while Chenail scored a run while going 2-for-3. Those two doubles gave Prendergast a new career-high.

Central Pointe Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-11-1. As for IMG Academy Blue, the win got them back to even at 8-8.

Central Pointe Christian Academy couldn't quite get it done against IMG Academy Blue when the teams last played back in February as they fell 5-1. Can the CPCA avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
