Football Recap: Wellman-Union Comes Up Short

Wellman-Union was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were dealt a 70-20 defeat at the hands of the Grandfalls-Royalty Cowboys. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 69-36 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Wellman-Union's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Grandfalls-Royalty, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Wellman-Union will look to defend their home field on Friday against Hart at 7:30 p.m. The Wildcats will need to watch out since the Longhorns have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Grandfalls-Royalty, they will take on Holy Cross at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
