Basketball Recap: Conroe Drops Season-High Score on Willis

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Conroe). They secured a 62-56 W over the Willis Wildkats on Friday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Tigers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 755th, while the Wildkats are ranked 372nd).

Several Wildkats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was SJ Young, who went 5 of 11 en route to 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyshon Nixon, who went 7 for 16 on his way to 17 points.

Conroe's win bumped their record up to 5-12. As for Willis, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-7.

Conroe didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 41-39 victory against Waller on the 27th. As for Willis, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 79-59 win against Spring on the 27th.
