Basketball Recap: West Jefferson Comes Up Short

West Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 64-60 heartbreaker at the hands of the L.W. Higgins Hurricanes. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Buccaneers of the 63-61 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2025.

West Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 10-17. As for L.W. Higgins, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-14.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. West Jefferson is set to face off against their familiar foe John Ehret at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, L.W. Higgins will challenge rival Bonnabel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
