Basketball Recap: Trista Mabry's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Legacy over Oak Park

Legacy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 75-53 to the Oak Park Eagles.

Legacy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trista Mabry, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 boards. Mabry is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last ten games she's played. Laila Gines was another key player, putting up 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Legacy's record now sits at 11-6. As for Oak Park, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Legacy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-49 victory against Louisville on the 28th. As for Oak Park, it'll be Battle of the Birds when the Oak Park Eagles face off against the Crescenta Valley Falcons at 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
