The Weber Warriors will face off against the Farmington Phoenix at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Weber got their first taste of in-conference action on Tuesday and they started things off strong. They came out on top against Layton by a score of 3-1. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Lancers: they've now won four in a row.
The victory didn't come easy: Layton scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-21, 18-25, 25-18.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Farmington, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They put the hurt on Fremont with a sharp 3-0 win on Tuesday.
Farmington not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Fremont between 16 and 19 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-16, 25-18.
Weber better keep an eye on Charlie Evans. He was instrumental in Farmington's win, getting 13 digs and one assist.
Farmington couldn't miss and finished the game having scored on 42.4% of their attack attempts. That's the best hitting percentage they've posted all season.
The victory got Weber back to even at 8-8. As for Farmington, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's contest: Weber has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 4.7 aces per game. However, it's not like Farmington struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.8 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
