Pershing County extended their winning streak to five on Saturday, bumping their season record up to 10-16 in the process. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Silver Stage Nighthawks. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-0 on Tuesday.

Tyler Miller and Wyatt Hughes made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Miller pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Hughes pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. He is becoming a predictor of Pershing County's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 3-1 (and 7-15 when he doesn't). At the plate, Miller got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, while Hughes went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. That's the most hits Hughes has posted since back in February.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Trenton Rhodes, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Silver Stage, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 17 of their last 18 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-21 record this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured 12 losses in a row.

On Silver Stage's side, Joseph Kelley made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Pershing County will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Nighthawks: the pair will be back at it again later today.
