Hopkins entered their tilt with Calvin Christian on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Squires. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-0 on Tuesday.

Trent Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kellen Ford, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Braydon Smigiel, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Hopkins' victory bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Calvin Christian, they dropped their record down to 10-6-1 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
