Football Game Preview: John Carroll Catholic Rams vs. Dillard Panthers

After each having a week off, the John Carroll Catholic Rams and the Dillard Panthers will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as John Carroll Catholic comes in on three and Dillard on ten.

On Friday, John Carroll Catholic was fully in charge, breezing past St. John Paul II Academy 35-6. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won five games by 29 points or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, while Dillard put up plenty of points on Thursday, the same can't be said for Deerfield Beach. The Panthers took their matchup with ease, bagging a 56-0 win over the Bucks. The Panthers are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the eighth contest they've won by 20+ points this season.

Dillard's win came from a few key players John Carroll Catholic will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jayden Chico, who threw for 171 yards and three touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes. Anthony Jennings Iii was in the mix as well, providing Dillard with two scores.

Dillard didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Deerfield Beach to a completion percentage of just 50%. The team can thank Timothy Rusley for the heroic effort on defense: he. Special teams was a major factor in the game for Dillard, racking up 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Christopher Tillman, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

John Carroll Catholic's record is now 8-2. As for Dillard, their record now sits at 10-0.

John Carroll Catholic suffered a grim 43-20 defeat to Dillard in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Rams were down 36-14.
