Volleyball Recap: Cowan Comes Up Short

Cowan lost against Lapel back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Blackhawks took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. The Blackhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cowan started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-22, 25-19, 25-16.

Their offense was headlined by Savannah Hall and Mylie Williams, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Demi Abbott and her 24 assists. Keira Drew controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Cowan's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Lapel, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Cowan will head out to take on Muncie Burris at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lapel, they will face off against Daleville at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
