Softball Recap: Fellowship Academy Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Fellowship Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Azle Christian Fighting Crusaders on Tuesday. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by ten runs or more this season.

Khylee Webber made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing five bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Riverbeth Dickey was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Sarah Green, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Fellowship Academy now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Azle Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fellowship Academy will venture away from home to square off against Weatherford Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Azle Christian, they will face off against Strawn at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
