Mathis is 6-1 against Aransas Pass since November of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Pirates will welcome the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Aransas Pass' offense. They had to suffer through a 42-0 loss at the hands of Goliad. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 1012th, while the Tigers are ranked 342nd).

Mathis' loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Aransas Pass, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.

Everything came up roses for Mathis against Aransas Pass when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 36-6 win. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
