Baseball Recap: Evadale Wins Going Away Against Sabine Pass

Evadale owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 7-0 margin over the Sabine Pass Sharks. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Rebels as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Cooper Palmer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only four hits, the fewest he's had over his last seven matches. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last 13 contests.

In other batting news, Kayden Hubbard was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dakota Pinner, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Evadale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Evadale's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-8. As for Sabine Pass, their record now sits at 3-5-1.

Evadale will have a chance to go back-to-back against Sabine Pass: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
