The Anderson County Bearcats will head out to face off against the Western Hills Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Anderson County will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Anderson County nor West Jessamine made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Bearcats put the hurt on the Colts with a sharp 8-2 win. Considering the Bearcats have won 12 matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lacey Osborne spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bailey Mitchell was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Molly Wooldridge, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

Anderson County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Jessamine only posted a batting average of .200.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Western Hills and Franklin County have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. The Wolverines fell just short of the Flyers by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Wolverines have suffered since March 29th.

Western Hills saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Makayla Young, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Anderson County's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Western Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-17.

Western Hills' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Anderson County has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .462. It's a different story for Western Hills, though, as they've only averaged .343. Will they be able to contain Anderson County's hitters?
