Basketball Game Preview: Meigs County Tigers vs. Sweetwater Wildcats

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Meigs County Tigers challenge the Sweetwater Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday... One thing working in Meigs County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.

Last Tuesday, Meigs County lost to McMinn County on the road by a 77-60 margin. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 296th, while the Cherokees are ranked 129th).

Meanwhile, Sweetwater unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They came up short against Gibbs, falling 65-39. The contest marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Sweetwater's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Meigs County, their loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

Meigs County won a game that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in January, slipping by Sweetwater 61-60. Does Meigs County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sweetwater turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
