Basketball Recap: Holmes Takes a Loss

Holmes lost against Newport back in December of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Bulldogs took a blow against the Wildcats, falling 69-38. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Newport found their leader in sophomore Amontae Lowe, who went 8-for-15 to rack up 21 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Davae Andrews-Glover, who shot 56% from the field en route to 14 points.

Holmes now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Newport, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Holmes will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Villa Madonna at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Newport, they will welcome Walton-Verona at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
