Softball Recap: Herscher Wins Going Away Against Lisle

It was a proper cat-fight when Herscher faced off against Lisle on Tuesday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 12-5 win. Considering the Tigers have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lilly Tucek spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Chloe Kinkade, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Liv Wilkins was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Herscher hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lisle struck out ten times.

Herscher has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. Having lost for the first time this season, Lisle fell to 3-1.

Herscher will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Lions: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
