Basketball Recap: St. John Paul II Takes a Loss

St. John Paul II was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 24th straight loss. They were beaten by the Athens Golden Eagles 92-29. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 424th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 78th).

St. John Paul II's defeat dropped their record down to 1-24. As for Athens, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.

St. John Paul II has already played their next contest (against West Limestone), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Athens Golden Eagles duke it out with the St. John Paul II Falcons at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
