Basketball Game Preview: Evansville Christian Eagles vs. Northeast Dubois Jeeps

The Evansville Christian Eagles will challenge the Northeast Dubois Jeeps at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.

Evansville Christian is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Heritage Hills just ended the team's three-game winning streak last Tuesday. They fell 45-36 to the Patriots.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Hannah Higgs, who posted 15 points and seven steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed six or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Hall, who scored nine points and seven boards.

Even though they lost, Evansville Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Northeast Dubois rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They beat the Trojans by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 32-20. Winning may never get old, but the Jeeps sure are getting used to it with their ninth in a row.

Evansville Christian's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-7. As for Northeast Dubois, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Evansville Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Northeast Dubois when the teams last played back in December of 2024, sneaking past 35-32. Will Evansville Christian repeat their success, or does Northeast Dubois have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
