Baseball Recap: Metamora Takes a Loss

Metamora was the 10-8 winner over Bloomington when they last played one another back in April of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Redbirds fell just short of the Purple Raiders by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. That's two games in a row now that the Redbirds have lost by just one run.

Drew Lueddecke was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Sauder, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Metamora has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Bloomington, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 9-6 record.

Looking ahead, Metamora will welcome Canton at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Bloomington, they will venture away from home to square off against Centennial at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
