Baseball Game Preview: Fairfax HomeSchool Hawks vs. Avalon Black Knights

The Fairfax HomeSchool Hawks will head out to challenge the Avalon Black Knights at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Avalon took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Fairfax HomeSchool, who comes in off a win.

Last Tuesday, Fairfax HomeSchool made easy work of NOVA HomeSchool and carried off a 9-2 victory.

Jazi Kulian looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cenzo Gonder, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Martin Ewell, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Avalon's offense. They lost 13-0 to Our Lady of Good Counsel on Thursday.

Avalon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Judah Knight, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Fairfax HomeSchool now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Avalon, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Fairfax HomeSchool took their win against Avalon when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 9-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fairfax HomeSchool since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
