The Brighton Cardinals will head out on the road to challenge the White Station Spartans at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
On Friday, Brighton came up short against Tipton-Rosemark Academy and fell 7-2.

Kaiden Ingram made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Brighton is 4-2 when Ingram posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-7 otherwise.
Meanwhile, White Station had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 18-0 margin over the Tigers. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won seven matches by ten runs or more so far this season.
Dominick Lewis made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Andrew Rambo and Hayes Bennett did most of the damage at the plate: Rambo scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2, while Bennett scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. What's more, Bennett posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in March. Another player making a difference was Henry Lomax, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
White Station's record now sits at 13-6. As for Brighton, they now have a losing record of 8-9.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Brighton has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like White Station struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Brighton took their victory against White Station in their previous meeting back in April of 2018 by a conclusive 14-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cardinals since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
