Softball Recap: Academic Magnet Comes Up Short

Academic Magnet lost against Timberland on Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Raptors came up short against the Wolves, falling 17-4. The Raptors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Elena Barber made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-2. Izzy Paul also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Academic Magnet's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Timberland, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Academic Magnet will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lowcountry Leadership at 5:00 p.m. on the 24th. As for Timberland, they will challenge Philip Simmons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Iron Horses have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.2 runs per game on average), something the Wolves will no doubt try to take advantage of.
