Volleyball Recap: Central Christian Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Central Christian lost against Open Door Christian back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Comets took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Patriots. The Comets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Central Christian ultimately came up short, they really made Open Door Christian work, particularly in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 22-25, 25-16, 27-25.

Brinna Miller paced Central Christian's offense, picking up 17 kills. Miller got some help from Maclaren Fry and her 37 assists. Fry also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Ellie Rohr, each putting up two.

Sammy Comer was nothing short of spectacular for Open Door Christian: she had 27 digs and eight aces. That's the most digs Comer has posted since back in September.

Central Christian's loss dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Open Door Christian, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-4.

Coincidentally, Central Christian and Open Door Christian will both be playing Cuyahoga Heights the next time they take the court. The Patriots will host the Red Wolves at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, while the Comets will play them later in the day, at 1:00 p.m.
