Softball Game Preview: Siuslaw Vikings vs. Glide Wildcats

For the second straight game, Siuslaw will face off against Glide. The Vikings will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wildcats at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Siuslaw has given up an average of 12.2 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Siuslaw had been on a three-game streak of scoring at least ten runs, but Glide put an end to it on Tuesday. The Vikings came up short against the Wildcats, falling 12-1. The Vikings' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

For Glide's part, Ella Weber spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Glide let Montana Holcomb and Samantha Moyers run wild. Holcomb got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs, while Moyers got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI Moyers has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Geiger, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

Glide always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Siuslaw only posted an OBP of .227.

With the win, Glide broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 12-10. As for Siuslaw, their loss dropped their record down to 6-13.
