Volleyball Recap: Beardstown Takes a Loss

Beardstown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Seymour Indians. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-17, 25-14.

Laetitia Kanda paced Beardstown's offense, picking up six kills. Kanda got some help from Erika Mendoza and her five assists. Finally, Kanda was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Beardstown's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Beardstown will take on Augusta Southeastern at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Seymour, they will be taking part in a tournament against Pleasant Hill at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
