There's no place like home for Shawnee, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lima Central Catholic Thunderbirds on Wednesday, sneaking past 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Indians have posted since May 1, 2024.

Shawnee saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tate Bender, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

With the victory, Shawnee broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-9. As for Lima Central Catholic, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shawnee will venture away from home to challenge Liberty-Benton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lima Central Catholic, they will take on Columbus Grove at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
