Basketball Recap: Beau Chene Falls Short of Opelousas in the Playoffs

Beau Chene and Opelousas squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Beau Chene had to settle for second. They took a 63-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Opelousas Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Gators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Tigers are ranked 32nd).

Beau Chene dropped their record down to 16-17 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points over those games. As for Opelousas, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.

Beau Chene does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Opelousas has already played their next contest (against Livonia), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
