Football Recap: Chisum Mustangs vs. Edgewood Bulldogs
Chisum was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were dealt a 61-20 loss at the hands of the Edgewood Bulldogs. The Mustangs lost against the Bulldogs in their previous head to head back in October of 2015, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 28-14 score last time.
Trevor Golightly was his usual excellent self, throwing for 425 yards and six touchdowns on perfect 12-for-12 passing for Edgewood. Another player making a difference was Lucas Pippin, who gained 121 total yards and a touchdown.
Chisum's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Edgewood, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.
Chisum does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Edgewood, they will face off against Lone Oak at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Edgewood knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Lone Oak likes a good challenge.
