Recap: Southside Christian Warriors vs. Greenville Christian Academy Knights
The Southside Christian Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight defeat. They took a serious blow against Greenville Christian Academy, falling 51-18. Southside Christian has not had much luck with Greenville Christian Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Southside Christian struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-4) when they can't control their own glass like that.
Greenville Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Leah Brown out in front who scored 11 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brown has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Imogen Rawls, who scored 14 points.
Southside Christian dropped their record down to 1-14 with that loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Greenville Christian Academy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-7.
Southside Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Kerr-Vance Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. Southside Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Greenville Christian Academy, they will take on Gospel Light Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Gospel Light Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Thursday.
