Softball Recap: Midland Trail Comes Up Short

Midland Trail lost against Buffalo back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Patriots took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bison. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Madison Rader spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and five unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Nevaeh Hall and Presley Walker did some serious damage despite the final result: Hall scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-3, while Walker scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Midland Trail's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Buffalo, the win keeps they at an undefeated 4-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Midland Trail will challenge PikeView at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Buffalo, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Nitro at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.36 runs per game on average), something the Bison will no doubt try to take advantage of.
