Softball Recap: Goodpasture Christian Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Goodpasture Christian faced off against Donelson Christian Academy on Tuesday. The Cougars took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The defeat continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost five in a row.

Serenity Harrison spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and four unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Brooklyn Jones made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Katelyn Bryant, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Goodpasture Christian's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Donelson Christian Academy, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 23-4.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Goodpasture Christian will take on rival Friendship Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Donelson Christian Academy is set to square off against their familiar foe Clarksville Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
